Two-Year-Old Classroom
Two is a fun and adventurous age! Our Two-Year-Old Classroom is designed to embrace this exciting stage of discovery, independence, and growth. Our dedicated teachers guide children in their academic, social-emotional, and potty-training development, creating a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Early Academics & Structured Learning
What We Learn
In our Two-Year-Old Classroom, we introduce structured academics while maintaining a play-based approach to learning. Children engage in:
- Zoo Phonics to build early literacy skills
- Color & Shape Recognition
- Spanish Language Introduction
- Learning the Letters in Their Names
Daily Schedule
These concepts are introduced during circle time and reinforced through art and play-based centers. To create consistency, children follow an age-appropriate daily schedule that promotes structured learning while allowing for free exploration.
Social-Emotional Growth & Friendships
Developing Social Skills
Social-emotional development is a constant focus in our two-year-old classroom. At this stage, children are learning how to:
- Engage in group settings
- Play cooperatively with friends
- Communicate effectively with teachers
- Use manners in social interactions
Building Emotional Awareness
We also help children understand their feelings and develop empathy for others, building a foundation for positive social interactions.
Potty Training with Encouragement & Support
Our Approach
Potty training is a big milestone in the two-year-old classroom! We recognize that every child progresses at their own pace, and our approach is gentle, supportive, and encouraging:
- Children are encouraged to sit on the potty regularly, but never forced.
- Teachers communicate potty-training progress via daily reports.
- We use positive reinforcement, and when a child transitions to underpants, we celebrate as a class!
Parent Partnership & Support
Working Together
Having a two-year-old can be both rewarding and challenging, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Our teachers are experts in two-year-old development, and we encourage parents to:
- Ask questions and seek advice
- Collaborate with us on their child’s growth
Our Commitment
At Ohana School of Early Learning, we believe in building a strong community where children and families feel supported. We look forward to partnering with you on this incredible journey of learning, discovery, and growth!
