Toddler Room at Ohana School of Early Learning

The Toddler Room at Ohana School of Early Learning provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can explore, grow, and build confidence in their abilities. Our teachers thoughtfully design the classroom and activities based on each child’s developmental needs and individual interests, fostering curiosity and independence.

Engaging Learning Experiences

Toddlers learn best through hands-on exploration and play. Our program incorporates:

  • Language & Social Interactions
  • Music & Movement
  • Blocks & Building Activities
  • Books & Storytelling
  • Nature, Water, & Sand Exploration
  • Art & Dramatic Play

Each child’s learning journey is documented daily, and families receive individual reports highlighting their child’s experiences.

Encouraging Independence Through Exploration

Children are encouraged to explore their environment freely, using all their senses. Since this can sometimes be a messy process, we ask families to:

  • Dress children in comfortable, play-friendly clothing.
  • Provide seasonally appropriate outerwear, as outdoor play is an essential part of the day—rain or shine!

Mealtime: A Time for Growth

Mealtime is more than just eating—it’s a time for toddlers to develop social-emotional and self-help skills.

  • Children are encouraged to try new foods, use their developing language skills, and practice self-feeding.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are served daily.
  • Menus are readily available for families to view at any time.

Naptime: Rest and Relaxation

Napping is an important part of the toddler’s day, providing time to recharge for more learning and play.

  • Toddlers sleep on mats, made cozy with a small blanket, pillow, or comfort item from home.
  • Teachers help children relax with stories, soft music, or gentle back rubs.
  • Early risers engage in quiet activities until their peers wake up.

Documenting Your Child’s Growth

Teachers capture children’s experiences through photographs, dictation, and artwork, sharing these moments with families during drop-off and pick-up times.

At Ohana School of Early Learning, we value strong relationships with children and families. We encourage parents to take a moment at arrival each day to share updates about their child’s evening and morning, so we can better support their needs. In return, we will provide insights into their day and document their learning, play, and development.

We look forward to partnering with you on your child’s exciting learning journey!
